British talent set to light up Silverstone 2025
There’s something magical about Silverstone in July.
The sun is out (hopefully), 140,000 fans pack the grandstands and campsites, and the old airfield circuit transforms into a roaring festival of speed, noise, and national pride. It’s more than just a race; it’s Britain’s motorsport heartbeat.
And this year? It could be one for the history books, especially for British fans.
For the first time in his career, Lewis Hamilton returns to Silverstone as a Ferrari driver. The seven-time world champion is chasing an astonishing 10th home Grand Prix victory which no other driver has come close to such dominance at a single track, let alone their home circuit. And doing it in Ferrari red, in front of a packed home crowd? That’s pure sporting theatre.

But Hamilton won’t be the only Brit with the crowd behind him.
Lando Norris, McLaren’s star man, heads to Silverstone in the best form of his career. A race winner and fan favourite, the Bristol born driver blends raw pace with personality. With McLaren’s upward momentum, there’s every chance we’ll see him fighting for the podium, if not more, in front of a sea of orange-clad fans. He’s still chasing that elusive British GP win so could this finally be the year?

Alongside them, George Russell continues to fly the flag for Mercedes. The 26-year old from Norfolk has quietly and confidently become one of F1’s most consistent performers. A Grand Prix winner and regular front-runner, Russell will be looking to make his own mark at Silverstone, a track he knows like the back of his hand. His calm precision and rising star power give fans another home hero to get behind.

And then there’s the new kid on the block. Oliver Bearman, just 19 years old, lines up for his first full-season British Grand Prix with Haas. The Chelmsford-born newcomer made waves in 2024 with a calm, confident stand-in drive that turned heads across the paddock.
At the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, called up at the last minute to replace Carlos Sainz at Ferrari, Bearman qualified 11th and finished 7th - scoring points on his debut at just 18. It was one of the most impressive F1 first outings in recent memory.
Now, Bearman returns to Silverstone not as a reserve, but as a full-time driver. With tens of thousands of fans watching a new homegrown talent take on the world, he’s got raw speed, natural confidence, and that fearless edge that British crowds love.
Silverstone has always been a place where legends are made, and Bearman might just be next.

Of course, Silverstone is about more than just the on-track action. It’s a full-blown British motorsport festival.
Of course, Silverstone is about more than just the ontrack action. It’s a full-blown British motorsport festival. Think campsite barbecues, big name artists and bands performing such as Sam Fender who headlined the opening night concert, F1 simulators, pit lane walks, and an energy that builds from Thursday right through to lights out on Sunday. The fans don’t just watch the race, they live it.
With four British drivers to cheer for, Hamilton chasing history, Norris hunting his first home win, Russell targeting glory for Mercedes, and Bearman making his mark, the 2025 British Grand Prix is set to be one of the most emotional, electric Silverstone weekends in memory.
So, who are you backing at Silverstone? The legend, the showman, the contender or the fearless newcomer? One thing’s for sure, British motorsport has never looked stronger.
